2019-2020 Awards
Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award: Brian Frieh
Brian is graduating as a 4 year varsity player, and actually played 1 games as an 8th grader. (had an assist!!) He represented the team as our Captain this season. Brian is the MVP for many different reasons, his leadership, his work ethic and his ability to take a game over. Brian’s leadership was second to none. Examples of this are him making the coach blow the whistle to stop practice because the team wasn’t working hard enough, or calling a timeout in a playoff game, screaming at the team to get them going, then showing how it’s done by scoring that very next shift. Brian gave everything he had to the team and program over the last few seasons. Earning respect from everyone he played with or against along the way. We hope to see Brian suit up again next year and continue his hockey career playing juniors!!!
Outstanding Defenseman Award: Will Martone
Will is a junior defenseman playing his second season at varsity. Will had a strong sophomore season and carried that into his junior year as our number 1 defenseman. He lead the way all season playing in all situations, short handed and power play, and playing against the other teams top players. He logged a lot of ice time but always seemed to have enough energy to go out the next shift. We are looking forward to seeing what Will has in store for us next season!!
Eric LeBlancl Memorial Award: Jack Longueil
The Ernie LeBlanc award goes to a senior that show hard work, leadership and dedication. Jack showed many of these qualities and more throughout his career at BHS. Jack took one for the team and moved back to defense this season. He helped anchor us defensively but could also use his offensive skills to help lead the breakout and attack. Jack pitched in 3 goals and 12 assists this year to give him 38 points in his career.
Dr. Johnson Memorial Award: Conor Higgins
The Doctor Johnson Memorial Award goes to Conor Higgins!!! The Dr. Johnson award goes to a player that demonstrated leadership qualities, attitude and team play. Conor was the backbone of our team this season, making save after save for us. Always keeping us in the game and providing confidence to our team, knowing he is behind them. Conor has had a great career at BHS so far, and we can’t wait to see what Conor has in store for us as a Senior, next season.
